UK planners could help simplify Jersey planning process

  • Published

The planning process in Jersey could become quicker and less expensive in future.

The States has arranged for UK planning officers to visit the island to look at how Jersey's system could be streamlined.

This could include increasing the list of home alterations that would not need planning permission.

The Planning Department will focus on ways to speed up the process, reduce mistakes and save money.

It said the improvements were essential because of States spending cuts which are being made over the next few years.
