Thriller writer and Jersey resident Jack Higgins is giving his name to a new theatre group in the island.
The Jack Higgins Productions New Theatre Company aims to promote local theatrical excellence.
The author, whose real name is Harry Patterson, said he also hoped to promote home-grown talent and support charities.
The company plans to raise funds for local Alzheimer's charities and other local causes.
The company's first production is to be the American drama Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.
It will be performed next spring at the Jersey Arts Centre.
The 80-year-old novelist has written more than 60 novels, his most famous being The Eagle Has Landed.
