Call for better Jersey mental health care

Jersey States is being urged to increase investment in mental health facilities in the island.

Philip Le Claire, director of Jersey Focus on Mental Health, says people are often having to wait for three months before they get treatment.

He says the service needs more than the current six clinicians and 17 in-patient beds.

Jersey Focus and the Mental Health Directorate are holding a conference on mental health care on 12 November.
