A Jersey woman who is partially-sighted is planning to run the London marathon this year.

Jennifer Stafford, who lives in St Helier, will take part in the 26-mile race with her father to guide her.

She is training with a gym instructor to prepare for the event in London on the 17 April.

Ms Stafford said she used to run with the Jersey Spartans before her eyesight deteriorated, and she has run a relay leg of the Jersey Marathon.

She said running the London Marathon was something she had always wanted to do.

She said she has not set herself a time, so she is just going to enjoy the experience of the marathon.
