British ska group and former 2 Tone act Madness will headline the Jersey Live music festival's main stage on Saturday 3 September.

They will be joined at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity as headliner by British rapper Plan B who will perform on Sunday.

Madness are responsible for some of the most recognisable hits of the 1970s and 1980s, including One Step Beyond.

They will be supported on the main stage on Saturday by The Streets.

Jersey Live co-organiser, Warren Holt, said: "After the success of Paul Weller last year, we were really keen to book another legendary British band and have been after Madness for a while now.

"They really fit the bill for Jersey Live, as young and old music fans will be familiar with their back catalogue, and they're just such a perfect party band."

Plan B was supposed to play the Jersey Live festival in 2010 but had to pull out just before the event.

Jersey Live co-organiser, Warren Le Sueur, said: "Getting Plan B is really fantastic for us after the disappointment of losing him from last year's bill.

"He's even bigger than he was in 2010, especially with him winning the Brit Award recently, so maybe these things happen for a reason."

Organisers have also confirmed another British 2 Tone act, The Beat, as the opening act for the festival's main stage on Sunday.

And one of the BBCs influential sounds of 2011, the grime MC Wretch 32, will also play on the main stage.

Nero, Danny Byrd and Dynamite MC as well as Toddla T and MC Serocee have been confirmed for the dance arena.
