The organisers of Jersey Live Festival with JT have announced Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds as the headline act on Sunday night.

He will be joined by dance act Chase and Status who headline on Saturday.

Organisers have also announced Primal Scream, Professor Green and the Stranglers for the September event.

Now in its ninth year, the festival takes place in the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity on 1 and 2 September.

Co-organiser Warren Le Sueur said: "There's not an awful lot I can add about Noel that people don't already know; he's a certified god-like genius, and he'll be playing a whole load of new music and classic Oasis songs."

'Perfect fit'

This is the second time Chase and Status have performed at Jersey Live, having played earlier in the day in 2010.

Mr Le Sueur said: "We've got a history of having big dance acts occupying the Saturday night headline slot on the Main Stage including Basement Jaxx and Groove Armada in previous years, and C&S are the perfect fit."

Other acts confirmed include Devlin and Maverick Sabre.

The event is still subject to permission from the Bailiff's panel and will not have camping.

There will be five stages at the festival in 2012: The Main Stage, the Dance Arena, the local Tease Stage, The JT Stage and a hospitality stage.

A standard weekend ticket is £92 or £56 for a single day.
