Jersey minister reassures NatWest customers

Jersey's social security minister has reassured people on benefits who bank with NatWest that payments have been sent to the bank.

Senator Francis Le Gresley said any customers experiencing difficulty getting money should contact their branch directly.

Technical problems have affected NatWest branches and experts are trying to resolve the issue.

Balances have not been updating and many services are unavailable.

Senator Le Gresley said: "NatWest customers who need to access funds should go to their local branch with proof of identification where a cashier will be able to help them."

A spokesman for the Royal Bank of Scotland group said the RBS branch in Bath Street and NatWest in Library Place would be open until 19:00 BST.

NatWest in library Place and in Les Quennevais would also be open on Saturday from 09:15 BST to 12:15 BST.
