Firefighters in Jersey have put out a fire which broke out on cliffs.

The furze fire started at Les Landes in St Ouen at about 22:00 BST on Saturday.

Fifteen firefighters, including staff from the Western substation, were called to the scene below the model aircraft runway.

Although small, the fire service said it was concerned that it could have spread quickly because of strong winds. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Firefighters returned to the area on Sunday morning to ensure it did not reignite despite heavy rain overnight.
