Girls hit by van in Jersey is stable in hospital

A seven-year-old girl is in a stable condition in Jersey's general hospital after being hit by a van in St Saviour.

She was struck by a Nissan van in Georgetown Road on Wednesday at about 15:20 BST.

Officers sealed off the area to investigate but said they were not looking to make any arrests.

The girl has not been named and her injuries are thought to be serious but not life-threatening.

Police say a 36-year-old man was driving the van at the time.
