Jersey's health department signs contract with Les Amis
A Jersey learning disability charity has signed a new contract with the island's health department.
It followed concerns about the long term funding of Les Amis at Five Oaks.
Deputy Eddie Noel, from the Les Amis committee, said the charity had signed a new service level agreement to ensure it maintains its services.
A spokesman for the health department said the long term residential support and respite services Les Amis provides are "essential".
Deputy Noel said: "This follows a difficult period where Les Amis found themselves with real concern about their long term financial sustainability, and their viability as a business.
"Although it has taken some time to resolve, this is the culmination of hard work by both parties to find a solution that will guarantee a long term future for Les Amis."
