Knighthood for Jersey Bailiff Sir Michael Birt
Jersey's bailiff Sir Michael Birt has been made a knight by Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Sir Michael was named in the Queen's Birthday Honours in June for services to the crown and Jersey's community.
He became the island's Attorney General in 1994, was made deputy bailiff in 2000 before taking the top job three years ago.
Sir Michael said the honour was good recognition for both him and for Jersey.
Each year more than 2,500 people are given their awards by a member of the Royal family, usually the Queen.
He was made a knight alongside actor Sir Kenneth Branagh who was being recognised for services to drama and Northern Ireland.
