St Helier stabbing: Michael Brown, 52, admits killing

A man has pleaded not guilty to murdering another man who was found stabbed on a driveway.

Michael Charles Brown, 52, appeared at Jersey's Royal Court earlier charged with killing John Stephen McCarthy.

The 73-year-old was found wounded in Vauxhall Gardens, Vauxhall Street, St Helier, on 21 October 2016.

Mr Brown entered a guilty plea to the lesser charge of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and will face a murder trial in future.

No date has yet been set for the murder trial.
