Six policemen die in Afghan suicide attack

Published
At least six Afghan policemen have died after a suicide bomber attacked a joint convoy of Afghan and Nato forces in northern Afghanistan, officials said.
The attack took place in Kunduz province, near the border with Tajikistan.
The bomber drove a car filled with explosives, which detonated on hitting the convoy, news agency AFP reported.
One soldier from the Nato-led forces and 11 Afghans were also wounded in the attack early on Thursday.
The Taliban have a strong presence in Kunduz and reports say the insurgents have been using it as a base to launch attacks elsewhere in the region.
