At least seven suspected militants have been killed in a US drone strike in Pakistan's troubled North Waziristan tribal region, officials say.

At least three of the dead are said to be foreign fighters. Their nationality is yet to be confirmed.

The attack took place in the village of Tapai, about 6km (3.7miles) from Miranshah in North Waziristan.

More than 10 people were also injured when two missiles fired from a drone struck a house.

Local tribesmen told the BBC that the house was being used as a base by Taliban militants.

It is the second drone strike in the region in 24 hours.
