If someone you don’t know is sending you messages, look for buttons within the games which block or mute the users. There are also usually settings that allow you to choose who you talk to. If messages you've been sent are crossing a line, you should report them to the game.
It can be hard to discuss online gaming with parents or guardians, if you’re concerned they’ll over-react.
However, it is important to talk to them about things that are worrying you so you can work out what to do next. It shows them how sensible and knowledgeable you are, which will hopefully help them to trust you to do the right thing in future.
