BBC Sport earns three Bafta award nominations

BBC Sport has received three nominations in the sport category for a 2011 Phillips British Academy Television Award.

One nomination is for coverage of the opening Friday night game of the 2011 Six Nations between Wales and England.

BBC Sport's Formula 1 team have been nominated for their production of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

And the coverage of the 2010 Wimbledon championships has also been shortlisted for the ceremony on 22 May.

The other nominee is for ITV's coverage of last year's FA Cup final between Chelsea and Portsmouth.

Elsewhere the BBC has also been nominated in several categories at the Sport Industry Awards.

BBC Sport's football World Cup website has been short listed for the Best Website category along with The Guardian, The Telegraph, World Rally Championship, Team Sky and NFL 360.

And there are two BBC nominations in the Best TV Commercial category - for the World Cup and Commonwealth Games marketing campaigns.
