Poor surf postpones English National Championships
The English National Surf Championships have been postponed because of poor surf conditions at Watergate Bay.
A small one-foot swell combined with a strong offshore wind has created a lack of clean surfable waves at the Cornish beach.
The English National Surf Championships are one of Europe's oldest surfing competitions and have been held at Watergate Bay seven times.
The UK's top surfers will now return to action at the Saltrock Open in May.
The Saltrock Open is due to be held at Croyde in North Devon on 28, 29 and 30 May.
