Good start for Jersey's Island Games team
Jersey competitors won two gold medals on the opening day of the Island Games.
Nikki Holmes and Mary Norman won the 10m air pistol team event to claim Jersey's first gold.
Simon Phelan took gold in the high jump with 2.10m effort while Jo Gorrod and Arlene Lewis claimed silver in the women's half marathon team event.
Jonathan Bouchard and David Turner took bronze in the 10m air rifle event while Kevin De Gruchy and Steve Le Couilliard took silver in the 300m prone rifle.
Jersey also won four medals in the cycling to leave the island fourth in the medals table after the opening day of action.
Guernsey finished top at the end of the first day.
