Cornwall's Winter and Lester are out of Boardmasters

Winter is one of Great Britain's most successful surfers of all time

Cornish surfers Russell Winter and Micah Lester have been knocked out of the Boardmasters surfing championship in the third round.

The duo were the only British surfers to make it through to the third round of the competition in Newquay.

Newquay-based Winter, who won the event in 2002, was last in his heat scoring 6.17, more than four points off the next best surfer.

Lester, from Constantine, was also last in his heat as he scored 8.07.
