Plymouth's Sarah Bibby has won the British Wavesailing Association's 2011 Wave Tour.
The 24-year-old secured the title after coming second in the tour's final event at Gwithian near Hayle in Cornwall.
"I've been competing for a few years now and this is the first time I've won it, so it's great, I'm really happy with the result," she said.
Wavesailing sees windsurfers ride waves like surfers and make jumps, with judges marking their performances.
Bibby took up the sport eight years ago while on holiday and continued to ride while at university in Southampton.
While she says she has considered going professional, she is not sure that she would be able to make a career out of the sport.
"I don't think there's too much money in it, so I'll be keeping it as a hobby, competing on the side of working," she said.
