Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has agreed a £10m deal for 25-year-old Marseille striker Loic Remy - paving the way for Magpies forward Demba Ba, 27, to leave in January.

Arsenal and Liverpool target Fernando Llorente is set to meet Juventus officials on Monday in a bid to thrash out a deal that will see the 27-year-old old Spain striker leave Athletic Bilbao.

Chelsea have been told to cough up £30m if they want to sign 28-year-old Corinthians striker Paolo Guerrero, who scored the winner against them in the Club World Cup final.

Manchester United want Benfica centre-back Ezequiel Garay to beef up their shaky defence. The club are ready to bid £15m for the 26-year-old Argentina defender at the end of the season.

Arsenal have turned down a bid of £2.5m from Turkish side Galatasaray for their Brazilian left-back Andre Santos. The Gunners want to recoup £5m of the £6.8m they paid Fenerbahce for the 29-year-old last term.

Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson will be put up for sale by Blackburn Rovers. Southampton, West Brom, West Ham and Fulham are all reported to be interested in the 33-year-old.

Liverpool are set to add 19-year-old Birmingham and England keeper Jack Butland to deals for Daniel Sturridge and Thomas Ince, as Reds manager Brendan Rodgers targets a triple swoop of English talents. Chelsea striker Sturridge, 23 and Blackpool winger Ince, 20, are also expected to complete their moves in January.

Zambian international Felix Stoppila Sunzu, 23, has reportedly chosen to sign for Reading, despite interest from Arsenal. The striker will travel to England to sign his new contract after a forthcoming international against Tanzania.

Argentina legend Diego Maradona is "one step away" from being named coach of the Iraq national team. A spokesman for World Cup winner said the deal would be done before the end of 2012.

Hours after Paris St Germain winger Nene, 31, wrote on his website of his desire for "freedom" from the club, coach Carlo Ancelotti said that the Brazilian has not made an official transfer request. "He has not asked for a departure officially," the Italian said. "You know, I do not have time to go online. He has not talked to me or the club."

    @13 As it says, even with those stipulations it is still around 5,000-1, so still impressive. Anyway, why would they fix it to guarantee one of United and Madrid to go out straight away?

    Can't believe we would turn down a £2.5m offfer for Santos! We've just singed a £30m per season Emirates sponsorship deal and Addidas will follow with a further £25m a season.

    Yet the board still refuse to accept a loss on a rubbish fullback (who is really a LM). We're paying him at least £30k a week! Sell him and give the money to Walcott!

    The CL draw is fixed every year. Teams from same group cannot be drawn against each other, first in group must play second and no clubs from same nation can be drawn. Add in all the permutations and it does not leave a lot of choice. Quite obvious now isn't it?

    Loic Remy is said to have told Spurs in the summer that he would only leave Marseille for a Champions League side. How things change in the space of four short months.

    # LFC need an experienced striker - someone who has proven themselves in Europe and on the International stage. K. Huntelaar or Demba Ba would be ideal for LFC.

    You are right mate, what makes it even more amazing, is that French clubs do £12mill deals between themselves of late. No longer waiting for underpriced bids from England. Wages in France, PSG apart are probably the difference.

    @NeilD42.. I personally think he's pretty good, he was a star performer under AVB, but has struggled under the two more recent managers who don't seen to rate him.. he's fast, agile, still relatively young and has a good eye for goal. I think he'll be a great addition to the squad if we get him (Already England capped + Team GB).. Only potential problem... His MASSIVE ego that's a bit unjustified.

    As a long suffering Liverpool fan, I'm really concerned about buying Sturridge, he has not done anything that's made me sit up and think he could be a top premiership striker?

    Can anyone persuade me otherwise??

    If the rumours I have read in the past 3 months are all true then chelsea are going to sign in excess of 100+ players in January. We are going to have to install a few more chairs in the dug out.
