Surely he must have realised it was his second yellow.
It's just the same as any other form of cheating in the game.
"why can't people exchange sport facts instead of rumour?!!"
Maybe because you're commenting on an article which is called The Gossip Column? Calm down dear.
@8 Hendo12 - I hear Stewart Downing is available! :p
I wish my league was as strict as yours, some of the abuse the refs get in my Sunday games is disgusting. £40 is a lot of money to all but very, very few Sunday league players. The fines at top level should be sums of money that will actually discourage players abusing referees. The large sums can be invested in the grass roots.
There was another Frenchman who was sent off in a World Cup final for headbutting an opponent in the chest you may remember. So it is irrelevant where the headbutt is aimed, it's still a red-card. I can't believe that City are appealing this when it was obvious that only Nasri made a headbutting motion.
How ridiculous!
In AW, Arsenal have a manager who delivers CL every season without the resources of a Man City, Chelsea etc. Would you rather do a Leeds United and go belly up?
As a Liverpool fan, I really wish we had a long serving manager who could deliver so regularly. Some Arsenal fans seem to forget their ore-Wenger relegation scares of the mid 90's.
LFC chances of CL Football are slim to say the least. Simple maths.
After todays games 4th place will be 36 points from 20 games = 69 points after 38 games.
Before todays game LFC have 25points after 19 games = 50 points after 38 games.
LFC would have to amass 44 points for remainder of season I.e. better than Man City's current form
As much as he has been an impact player at Liverpool, we're alright thanks
All the Scousers do start on about similar amount of honours but Stevie has never won the league. And never will. And even at two years younger hes looking past it. Lamps aint.
For example when a foul is given and it isn't a foul because the player has dived who do the players/managers/pundits have a go at? The ref!! why? It's the players have to grow up!!
Alan Pardew's wife this morning...
Wife:"Hey wake up it's already 8!"
Pardew:"What? They scored another one!" REPLY TO
Newcastle fans to Arsenal : Arsene wenger's wife this morning
Wife:"Hey wake up it's 8 now"
Wenger:"What? Another season without
trophy!"
I too feel sorry for the ref... I listened to the game on Radio Sheffield and the commentary team thought the ref had booked their player at first for dissent. It was only when Helan got his 2nd yellow when their manager started protesting saying it was his 2nd yellow. The ref didn't make it clear who he had booked
Why is it up to the player? There are 4 officials at a game.
