Coventry Jets cancel London Warriors fixture

Coventry Jets have cancelled Saturday's fixture at London Warriors after two more injuries left the squad stretched.

The 68-14 loss against Bristol last Saturday left the squad with a maximum of 15 fit players and head coach Gerry McManus was worried for their safety.

He said: "It was a decision I didn't want to make.

"With such a small squad every player would have to play both offence and defence which is not ideal and potentially dangerous."

He added: "So in the health interests of my players I really had no option other than to cancel this match

"Although the Warriors are disappointed at the cancellation they fully understand and support my decision, as did the club's management."

The Jets now have time to get the injured players fit before their next match at home against the Warriors on 6 August.
