NFL: Wembley and Tottenham's new stadium to host two games in 2019

London will host four NFL games in 2019 with two to be played at Tottenham's new stadium and two at Wembley.
Spurs' new 62,000-seat arena was in line to host the fixture between Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders in October but has yet to open.
Wembley, which staged three sold-out NFL games in recent weeks, will host the remaining two games next year.
"London is the world's sporting capital," said Mayor of London Sadiq Khan.
"Hosting NFL matches here is fantastic for fans of American football in the UK as well as supporters from all over Europe."
Next year's fixtures will bring the total number of NFL games played in London to 28 since the first match in 2007.
Only three of the NFL's 32 teams have not played in the city.
Sports minister Tracey Crouch said: "The League brings an incredible Super Bowl-style atmosphere to the UK, with fans sporting jerseys from a range of NFL teams packing out Wembley this autumn in record numbers.
"I am sure the two games at Tottenham next year will also be a huge success as the UK will once again show its passion and enthusiasm for this fantastic sport."

As for those talking about the NFL ruining the pitch in Spurs’ new stadium, do some research. The stadium involves a retractable pitch so they will never play on the same turf. The stadium was designed with NFL in mind.
It's really very simple. Sold Out means all the tickets were sold, attendance means how many of those people turned up to watch the game. Do try and keep up, old chap.

Dear unbiased pundit, do understand the facts, tottenham have built a retractable plastic pitch to host nfl as part of a 10 year deal with the NFL. '
If you are going to attempt to bury someone due to their lack of knowledge get it right... Spurs' GRASS pitch is retractable. The NFL astro surface permanently resides underneath, it isn't retractable.
As for dumbing down, would you say it is a less complex game than golf for example?
I'm not knocking golf, each to his own, but you hit a ball and aim to get it in a hole in the ground in as few shots as possible
That's fairly basic but it doesn't make it dumb or any less a sport for its simplicity
Why shouldn't Spurs host NFL, they will have 2 completely separate playing surfaces, one for football, one for the NFL games so the problems encountered at Wembley will never happen?
re an earlier post, I don't think Old Trafford or City of Manch are long enough for an NFL field. I think the Millenium in Cardiff is, just.
NFL Europe the best supported team was the Claymores.
Why not have some of the games at Murrayfield.
Typical London centric bias
Did you ever think that one of the biggest media organisations in the UK might just have some analytics software for BBC Sport? And maybe, just maybe, those stats are showing just how popular NFL is becoming over here? So they therefore write about it, pretty simple
