Lucy O'Sullivan to prepare for Island Games at World Cup
Jersey archer Lucy O'Sullivan is to prepare for this summer's Island Games at the World Cup in Turkey.
She is attempting to qualify for the World Championships in Copenhagen at the end of July.
The Great Britain international was named Sports Person of the Year by the Jersey Sports Council in March.
"Hopefully I can prove to myself that, with more high pressured competition, I can make that World Championships team," O'Sullivan said.
"I had to come in the top three at the first leg of the GB selection shoots a couple of weeks ago. I came fourth, but they obviously saw potential in me as they still offered me the place to go to Turkey."
O'Sullivan will need to be in the UK's top three if she is to be selected for the World Championships.
She will compete against compound archers from the USA, Russia and China, among others, in Turkey, starting with a ranking round and then the knockout stages.
