Ravenscroft won GB's only medal at the World Championships

Adam Ravenscroft defeated Colombia's Camilo Andres Cardona to claim a compound bronze medal at the World Championships in Copenhagen.

Ravenscroft was defeated 148-142 by Dane Stephan Hansen on Friday to miss out on the gold-medal match.

But the 33-year-old, ranked 50 in the world, bounced back on compound finals day to defeat Cardona 143-141.

Ravenscroft won Great Britain's only medal from 12 competing archers at the tournament in Denmark.

While compound is a non-Olympic event, there were six recurve archers representing GB who were hoping to claim places for the team at the Rio 2016 Olympics - however none achieved the qualifying standard.
