Ben Reynolds from Holywood finished seventh in the 60m hurdles semi-finals at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Istanbul.
Making his major championship debut for Ireland, 21-year-old Reynolds clocked 7.80, which was .06 seconds outside his personal best.
The North Down man, based in Bath, had clocked 7.82 on Saturday as he achieved his target of qualifying from his heat.
Britain's Andrew Pozzi came second in Reynolds' semi to go through.
