Former winner Urga Negewo to race in Belfast Marathon

Urga Negewo celebrates his 2010 win

Ethiopian runner Urga Negewo will attempt to repeat his 2010 success at the Belfast City Marathon on 7 May.

The 26-year-old's main opposition in the 31st year of the event should come from compatriot Suffo Dekebi and Kenyan Freddy Sittuk.

Kenya's Alice Chelagat, who has a personal best of 2.27.29, heads the list of entries for the women's race.

Challengers include Moldovan athlete Natalia Cerches and the returning Yelena Kovhevnikova of Russia.
