Jersey athlete Elliott Dorey boosted his chances of qualifying for next year's Commonwealth Games by setting a new personal best in the 1500m.
Dorey's time of three minutes and 46.98 seconds is only 0.9 seconds outside the qualifying time for Glasgow.
The 19-year-old now holds the club record for Jersey Spartans, breaking Mike Guegan's previous marks from April 1994 - the month Dorey was born.
The sub-3:50 time should open the doors to high-class races next season.
