Both Child and Sharp claimed silver medals at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and followed that with more success at the European Championships in Switzerland where Child took gold and Sharp won silver.
On Saturday, Sharp and Child finished second and third, respectively, behind Christine Ohuruogu in the 500m at the Great North CityGames in Newcastle.
"It's been such a great year," Child told BBC Sport afterwards. "I'm absolutely delighted."
And Sharp added: "It's been an amazing summer."
