Greatest year of my life - Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton describes 2014 as the greatest year of his life after winning a second Formula 1 world title and the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

Hamilton won 202,920 of the 620,932 votes cast, with Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy getting 123,745 and Jo Pavey 99,913.

Hamilton becomes the fifth racing driver to win the award, with Damon Hill (1994 and 96) and Nigel Mansell (1986 and 92) triumphing on two occasions and Stirling Moss (1961) and Sir Jackie Stewart (1973) claiming the prize once.
