World Athletics: Best of 1983

BBC Sport looks back at some of the most memorable moments from the first ever World Athletics Championships in 1983, which were held in Helsinki, Finland.

Highlights of the competition include, Great Britain's Steve Cram beating compatriot Steve Ovett for gold in the final of the 1500m, a double victory for American Carl Lewis in the 100m and long jump, plus Daley Thompson becoming the first world decathlon champion.
