Michael Conlan to remain an amateur until after Rio Games

Belfast boxer Michael Conlan says he will delay turning professional until after the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.

The Commonwealth Games bantamweight gold medallist says his sights are set on winning a gold medal in two years' time, after which he will consider joining the professional ranks.

Conlan, who was a bronze medallist at the last Olympics in London in 2012, also emphasises that he is excited to be part of an exciting era for Irish boxing.
