Murdoch beats Jamieson in heat

Scotland's Ross Murdoch qualifies ahead of 200m breaststroke favourite Michael Jamieson to set up a final featuring plenty of home favourites.

Murdoch set a new Commonwealth Games record of two minutes 8.78 seconds, beating Olympic silver medallist Jamieson into second place and team-mate Calum Tait into third.

The three Scots were the fastest qualifiers and will be in the middle lanes for the final with English swimmers Andrew Willis and Adam Peaty on their outside.
