'Throbbing' pain worth it for Pietersen

England batsman Kevin Pietersen says a boyhood dream of playing at Kolkata drove him to put the pain of an injured finger to the back of his mind.

Pietersen, who led England to a six-wicket victory with a swashbuckling 53, admits he could have returned home with a fractured thumb, but says he was determined to help England end their losing run in the tour's last match.
