Cook upbeat despite Pakistan fightback

Alastair Cook insists England have "not thrown away" their chance of victory against Pakistan and enjoyed a "good day" despite losing a clutch of late wickets on the second day of the second Test in Abu Dhabi.

England, bidding to level the three-Test series, were well placed to overhaul Pakistan's 257 when Cook, who made 94, and Jonathan Trott were sharing a second-wicket stand of 139.

But Pakistan fought back thanks to another impressive performance from Saeed Ajmal to leave England 200-5 at the close.

Pakistan pace bowler Umar Gul praises his side's performance and says he is "confident" they can carry their momentum into Friday.

BBC correspondent Joe Wilson reports.
