Clarke confident in captain Cook

ECB managing director Giles Clarke says he is confident the England test team is in safe hands following Andrew Strauss's retirement from cricket.

Strauss is handing over to one-day captain Alastair Cook who will begin his reign in the four-Test series against India in November.

Clarke reiterates that the recent controversy surrounding Kevin Pietersen did not have a bearing on Strauss's decision to step down and says that Pietersen's return to the team will be a matter for the selectors.
