Three players set for England debuts

Three players are set to make their Test debuts for England as Alastair Cook's side fight to avoid a 5-0 Ashes whitewash against Australia, reports chief sports correspondent Dan Roan.

Batsman Gary Ballance, leg-spinner Scott Borthwick and fast bowler Boyd Rankin are all tipped to be included in a reshuffled team, with Michael Carberry, Tim Bresnan and Monty Panesar potentially making way.

England last gave three players Test debuts in one game eight years ago, when captain Cook and Panesar were joined by Ian Blackwell in winning call-ups in India.
