Cricket World Cup 2015: Scotland' Preston Mommsen on changes

Scotland captain Preston Mommsen says that the Cricket World Cup "should not be called a World Cup" if the ICC go ahead with plans to reduce the tournament from 14 sides to just 10 for the 2019 event in England.

Speaking after his side's World Cup-ending six-wicket defeat by Bangladesh in Nelson, New Zealand, the Scotland skipper argues that associate nations like themselves, Ireland, UAE and Afghanistan already play too few games at international level and that they do warrant their place on the world stage.

So far this time around Ireland have already beaten a full member nation in West Indies, while Scotland themselves suffered a shock defeat at the hands of tournament new-boys Afghanistan.
