William Porterfield: World cricket needs to expand, not contract
Warwickshire and Ireland opener William Porterfield tells BBC WM's Richard Wilford that the International Cricket Council have made an error in cutting the amount of teams particpating at the World Cup.
The current ICC plan, already revealed publicly, is to cut the number of competing teams from 14 to 10 at the next World Cup in England in 2019.
"We're the only sport looking to contract numbers," said Porterfield. "We should be looking to expand like a number of other sports are doing, like rugby and football."
