Alec Stewart open to England director role

Former England captain Alec Stewart says he is interested in becoming the country's new director of cricket, and it would be "silly not to listen" to them.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is creating the job as part of a restructure after the departure of managing director Paul Downton.

Stewart, 52, told BBC Sport: "If the ECB want to speak to me, of course I'll speak to them."
