Matt Prior deserves plaudits, says Sussex coach Mark Robinson

Sussex cricket manager Mark Robinson tells BBC Sussex that former England wicketkeeper-batsman Matt Prior deserves all the plaudits he has received following his retirement from all forms of cricket.

The 33-year-old, who won 79 Test caps, has been forced to retire because of a long-standing Achilles problem.

Prior retires with a Test batting average of 40.18 and 256 dismissals (243 catches and 13 stumpings).

The former Brighton College pupil made his first-class debut for Sussex in 2001 and scored almost 8,000 first-class runs for the Hove-based club.
