Rogers 'very proud' of 'special' day

Opener Chris Rogers is "very proud" of a "special" first day of the second Test at Lords, where he batted all day as Australia ended on 337-1.

The former Middlesex player formed an unbeaten partnership with vice-captain Steve Smith, who said it was a "good toss to win" on a flat pitch.

Smith was "surprised" with some of England's field placings and believes that they "got defensive quite quickly" which is "not something we are going to do".
