Glamorgan v Hampshire: Giles White backs pitch decision

Hampshire director of cricket Giles White says the umpires "made the right choice" to abandon their One-Day Cup match against Glamorgan over fears of "a dangerous pitch".

The match at Cardiff's Swalec Stadium on Sunday was called off after Hampshire openers Michael Carberry and Jimmy Adams were both hit on the helmet by deliveries from fast bowler Michael Hogan.

"The ball that hit Jimmy was quite shocking in the way it hit him from that length and gave him no chance to get out of the way," White told BBC Radio Solent.

The match in Group B was declared a no result but a full report will be prepared by the England and Wales Cricket Board Disciplinary Committee.
