Emma Pooley calls for elite-level women's cycling team

Emma Pooley believes having a professional elite-level women's cycling team in Britain would "raise the level" of competition.

Pooley, a time trial world champion in 2010 and Olympic silver medallist in 2008, says it is a "shame that more of the pro tour teams aren't interested" in setting up a squad and welcomes talk of personal investment in such a venture from Bradley Wiggins.

Pooley has stated she is considering retirement following this week's World Championships in the Netherlands.
