'Team Sky couldn't ask for more'

Welshman Geraint Thomas says Team Sky "couldn't have asked for more" from stage two of the Tour de France where Chris Froome gained time on most of his rivals, as German Andre Greipel won the stage.

As the race travelled along the Dutch coastline towards the finish in Zeeland, Sky's "ideal scenario" developed with defending champion Vincenzo Nibali and Colombian Nairo Quintana among those caught behind splits in the peloton caused by fierce crosswinds.

Froome praised team-mates Thomas and Ian 'Yogi' Stannard who where "born to" race in the difficult conditions that saw Swiss rider Fabian Cancellera take the race leader's yellow jersey.
