England's Scott Waites thrashed unseeded Canadian Jeff Smith 7-1 to win the BDO World Championship at Lakeside for a second time.

The 38-year-old regained the title he first won in 2013 and is the eighth player to win the crown more than once.

Waites raced into a 5-0 lead, before Smith took the sixth set with a 161 checkout to spark hopes of a fightback, but Waites eased to a comfortable victory.
