Vennard targets Paralympic archery medal

Northern Ireland woman Sharon Vennard will compete for Team GB in Archery at the Paralympics.

Vennard suffers from Ostoearthritis and first underwent surgery in 1996.

Despite suffering from "constant pain" she developed a love for archery and competed in able-bodied events before starting her Paralympic career three years ago.

The Newtownards woman, who is a member of the City of Belfast Archery Club, will start her challenge on 30 August and her Games will conclude with the team event on 5 September.
