John Terry hopes focus is not on Wayne Rooney red card

England captain John Terry hopes Wayne Rooney's sending-off will not overshadow the team's achievement in qualifying for the European Championship with a 2-2 draw in Montenegro.

Rooney was dismissed for kicking out at Miodrag Dzudovic and will miss at least the first game in Ukraine and Poland next summer, but his captain says his overall contribution to England's qualification should be remembered.

Terry believes England are capable of challenging at Euro 2012 and have learned lessons from their disappointing World Cup campaign in South Africa.
