Liverpool boss Ian Ayre fears Europe without TV rights shake-up

Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre tells BBC Radio Merseyside the big Premier League clubs will be disadvantaged in Europe unless there is a change in overseas television revenue-sharing to favour them over less successful top-tier British sides.

Ayre believes the top clubs should be able to negotiate their TV rights, as their European rivals do, with the current collective agreement expiring in 2013.

He says it is a "myth" that all Premier League sides have the same support, naming Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal as the most popular.
